THE CONCEPT
To celebrate the opening of Junk in Covent Garden, London, we are shooting a short comedic video featuring two very British grandmothers. They should feel like a real duo: two old friends with years of shared history, a dry sense of humour and a lot of character.

ROLE 1 — THE SPEAKER

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT — ESSENTIAL

• Native British English speaker.
• Authentic British accent and pronunciation.
• Delivers one line, naturally and with perfect comic timing.
• No noticeable French accent.

This is a key casting requirement. We are specifically looking for a native British speaker, not simply someone fluent in English.

THE CHARACTER
The leader of the duo. Witty, sharp, a little cheeky. She says exactly what she thinks, with impeccable British composure.

ROLE 2 — THE SILENT ONE

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

• Non-speaking role. No English required.

THE CHARACTER
The perfect sidekick. Everything happens on her face: raised eyebrows, side glances, a well-timed reaction. Her silence should be just as funny as her friend’s line.

LOOK & STYLE (BOTH ROLES)

• Age range: 65–85 years old.
• Overall look: classic, elegant, unmistakably British.
• Hair: neat and set, natural grey or white welcome.
• Should feel like real grandmothers rather than traditional commercial actresses.

Wardrobe reference:

• Tweed or wool coats, twinsets and cardigans.
• Pleated skirts or tailored trousers.
• Pearls, brooches, a structured handbag.
• Headscarf or small hat.
• Sensible but polished shoes.

PERSONALITY & ACTING

• Natural and spontaneous on camera.
• Strong comic timing, dry British humour.
• Expressive without being overly theatrical.
• Able to convey humour through subtle facial expressions and body language.
• Real chemistry as a duo. Applications as a pair are very welcome.

EXPERIENCE & AVAILABILITY

• Previous acting or modelling experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Comfortable acting on camera in an outdoor or public setting.
• Available for a one-day shoot in Paris november
